Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin. It is a speciality with both medical and surgical aspects. The department of dermatology manages diseases related to skin, hair, nails, and some cosmetic problems. The Department of Dermatology at APOLLO INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES and RSEARCH offers a full range of dermatologic care for both common and rare problems related to skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes. Apollo general hospital has more than 30,000 dermatology outpatient visits each year. The hospital is equipped with 30 beds for dermatology inpatient care. Some of these patients have unusual or complicated dermatologic problems and are referred by their physicians, but many are self-referred. The department’s faculty are experts in medical, surgical, and pediatric dermatology. The department runs speciality clinics such as Psoriasis clinic, vitiligo clinic, autoimmune diseases, vesicular bullous clinics, pigmentary disorder clinics, Hansen’s clinic and STD clinic. We also have an ART centre caring for the treatment and counselling of HIV/AIDS patients.
