Overview

Community Medicine, as a branch of medicine and a major subject of MBBS course, is concerned with health of populations.

The department of community medicine aims to protect and promote the health and well-being of communities and populations through Primary Health Care approach.

The training and deployment of Community Health Workers provide the connection between the CHTC and the community, helping with organizing and in the delivery of services to the community. The subject is taught on the broad canvas of Community Medicine and Public Health, with a special thrust on Epidemiology, Biostatistics and basic research methodology.
