Course Name – M.B.B.S.
The MBBS course at the Apollo Medical College is designed to offer the practice of medicine to the aspiring students with a holistic and intellectual training pattern emphasizing research and public service.
Duration:
4 years 6 months Academic year +
1-year compulsory rotating internship (House surgeons)
The academic year (4 years 6 months ) is divided into 3 phases (9 Semesters of 6 months each).
Phase – I, consists of 2 Semesters
Focus subject areas –
- Anatomy
- Physiology
- Biochemistry
These subject areas will be covered during Phase-I and examined at the end of this phase.
Phase – II, consists of 3 Semesters
Focus subject areas –
- Pathology
- Microbiology
- Forensic medicine
- Pharmacology part of community medicine
These will be taught during Phase-II and examined at the end of this phase.
Phase – III Part – I, consists of 2 Semesters
Focus subject areas –
- N.T.
- Ophthalmology
- Community Medicine
These will be covered during Phase-III Part-I and examined at the end of this phase.
Phase – III Part – II, consists of 2 Semesters
- Clinical subjects – Pediatrics
- Medicine & Allied
- Surgery & Allied
- Obstetrics & Gynecology
These areas are to be covered during Phase – II and Phase – III and examined in this phase.
