Tuberculosis or TB is one of the most dangerous bacterial infections affecting the lungs and subsequently other body parts like the brain, spine, etc. Through the years the effects of TB have reduced, although not completely extinct. It is still a cause for worry and can at times be life-threatening as well. At Apollo Medical College, we have a separate academic department dedicated to Tuberculosis and other lung and chest diseases.

Several ongoing scientific and medical research are being conducted in this sphere of medicine all through the world, and we are encouraging our students to contribute to the same. Extensive study material in the form of books, published articles are available for the benefit of students supported by lectures, seminars, and others all well guided by qualified and experienced faculty.

All types of TB such as latent, drug-resistant, and active streams are treated at the General Hospital at Apollo Medical College. Blood workups, testing, diagnostic, and long term treatment plans including medication is available at the Hospital.

A discussion about a subject matter will teach you more about the issue at hand than just listening to it from a one-dimensional perspective. We believe in engaging our students in seminars, talks, webinars, and group discussions as a part of CME. The Apollo Medical College holds regular talks and seminars at the campus as well as other outside locations in view of our students to benefit from them. Best speakers are brought in with high knowledge on the subject matter and care is taken to ensure modern topics are regularly discussed. We encourage all students to actively participate in the same making this a positively reinforcing experience.
